New thermal design
The Intel NUC 13 Extreme chassis is redesigned to optimize airflow and maintain cooler temperatures during hours of intense gameplay—with lower fan speeds, less noise, and less chance of throttling.

To support intense gaming at high FPS, the Intel NUC 13 Extreme has 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and DDR5 support for speeds of 4800+ MHz. 3, 4, 5 That’s in addition to the new, quieter thermal design and unlocked 125W 13th Gen Intel Core processors that are built to deliver new levels of performance.
Stream
The Intel NUC 13 Extreme is loaded with features for streamers, including support for 4K60 transcoding and the latest video codecs. With up to eight P-cores, streamers can play the latest titles in the foreground, while using up to 16 E-cores to perform demanding tasks like video transcoding in the background.

Performance hybrid architecture combines two core microarchitectures, Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores), on a single processor die first introduced on 12th Gen Intel Core processors. Select 13th Gen Intel Core processors do not have performance hybrid architecture, only P-cores, and have same cache size as prior generation; see ark.intel.com for sku details.
CPU PCIe 5.0 lanes are only validated for discrete graphics (x16) and PCIe storage (1x4). 1x16 bifurcation to 2x8 supported on select Intel® 600 and 700 Series chipsets.
Maximum memory speeds are associated with 1 DIMM per Channel (1DPC) configurations. Up to DDR5-5600 MT/s 1DPC UDIMM 1Rx8, 1Rx16 and DDR5-5200 1Rx8, 1Rx16, 2Rx8.
