Other Intel® FPGAs are also used for edge-centric applications. However, the characteristics of MAX® and Cyclone® FPGA devices—with low-power and small-form factor focus—while valued by many different types of applications, are critical for many edge applications. This feature set allows customers to build products specifically deployed on the edge.

Aren’t Intel® MAX® V devices classified as a CPLD? Why is it part of the Edge-Centric FPGA portfolio?
Yes. MAX V® has CPLD capabilities and features, but at the same time it is designed around an FPGA architecture.
