On Windows® 10, there are two variations of the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software:

  • DCH-Compliant Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software 
  • Legacy Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software
Your system manufacturer may have pre-installed the DCH-Compliant Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software on your system to enable OEM-specific features. 
You may lose OEM-specific feature if you uninstall the DCH-Compliant Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
Steps described in this page are not applicable for DCH-Compliant Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Select either Programs and Features or Apps and Features.
  3. Click Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
  4. Click Uninstall. Select Yes to accept the User Account Control popup. An uninstall message displays.
  5. Select from the list and click Next. Select one of the following:
    • Save Settings: Save settings and files applicable to the current version of the application.
    • Discard Settings: Do not save application settings. The removal can take several minutes.
  6. Click Finish. A message prompts you to restart your computer.
  7. Click Yes to restart the computer.

Uninstalling Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software also removes the Wi-Fi driver of the Intel® Wireless Adapter. As a result, you can't use the wireless adapter on your computer. We only recommend uninstalling the driver as a final troubleshooting option. You shouldn't uninstall unless directed by an Intel technical support agent.

If you must uninstall, download the latest Wi-Fi drivers before starting this process.

  1. Select Charms.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Control Panel.
  4. Select Programs and Features.
  5. Click Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
  6. Click Uninstall. Select Yes to accept the User Account Control popup. An uninstall message displays.
  7. Select from the list and click Next. Select one of the following:
    • Save Settings: Save settings and files applicable to the current version of the application.
    • Discard Settings: Do not save application settings. The removal can take several minutes.
  8. Click Finish. A message prompts you to restart your computer.
  9. Click Yes to restart the computer.
