Error in Device Manager on the Intel® TXEI for Intel® NUC Products

Error Messages

What are you seeing?

An error in Device Manager (code 37 or code 28) on the Intel® Trusted Execution Engine Interface (Intel® TXEI).

Why are you seeing it?

Microsoft Kernel-Mode Driver Framework (KMDF*) isn't installed.

How to fix it.

The Intel® TXEI driver is required for Secure Boot and platform security features. KMDF must be installed before the Intel TXEI driver.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Install the Kernel-Mode Driver Framework (KMDF) version 1.11 update for Windows 7*.
  2. Install Intel TXEI driver from the Download Center.

The issue and solution in this article apply only to Intel® NUC products that have Windows 7* installed and use the Intel® Trusted Execution Engine.

If you have a different computer and/or operating system, try reinstalling the Intel® Trusted Execution Engine Interface (Intel® TXEI) driver:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click the device.
  2. Select Uninstall.
  3. Restart your computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
If these steps don't solve the issue, contact your computer manufacturer for help.
