If the Intel® Deployment Assistant hangs or otherwise fails to update the firmware, follow these steps:

  1. Enter the BIOS.
  2. Go to Advanced > PCI Configuration > Maximize Memory.
  3. Set to below 4 GB > [Enabled].

If the update hangs on one particular component, check the Quick Start User Guide or Technical Product Specification for the location of a Force Update jumper for that component. Examples: BIOS, Baseboard Mgmt Controller (BMC), FRU/SDR, or ME.

If you are using an add-in RAID card:

  1. Enter the BIOS.
  2. Go to Advanced > Mass Storage Controller Configuration > AHCI Capable SATA Controller.
    1. Set to [Disabled].
  3. Go to Advanced > Mass Storage Controller Configuration > SAS Controller.
    1. Set to [Disabled].
  4. Update the firmware through Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI).
