TA-687: Intel® RAID Controllers SRCU42X/SRCU42E Don't Support 1 GB Memory Modules
The Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42X and Intel® RAID Controller SRCU42E do not support the use of 1 GB memory modules due to limitations in memory space mapping within the RAID controller firmware, as well as in the supporting RAID management utilities.
Intel has determined that it's not feasible to add support for cache memory larger than 512 MB for the Intel RAID Controller SRCU42X and Intel RAID Controller SRCU42E due to the extensive software stack modifications required.
