What am I seeing?

There is no option in the Intel® RAID Web Console utility to initialize the RAID volume created with Intel® RAID Controllers using the Integrated RAID (IR) firmware such as:

  • Intel® RAID Controller RS3UC080
  • Intel® RAID Controller RS3FC044
  • Intel® RAID Controller RS25FB044
  • Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS3JC080
  • Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25JB040
  • Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25JB080
  • Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB040
  • Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB080
  • Intel® Integrated Server RAID Module AXXRMS2LL080
Note

The IR controller is the entry-level Intel® RAID Controller supporting RAID level 0, 1, 10, 1E.

How to fix it

You do not need to manually start the initialization. Intel RAID Controller using the IR firmware automatically starts background initialization after a RAID volume is created.

After creating the RAID volume, wait for some time and refresh the Intel RAID Web Console. You should then see initialization running in background process.

Refer to the Intel Integrated RAID Solution User Guide for further details.
