Troubleshooting steps for NUCs that randomly turn off or freeze.
- System turns off or locks up
- Blue screen errors (BSOD)
- Can happen:
- during startup
- while system is on and in sleep mode
- while software applications or web browsers are open
- while playing games
- when new I/O device was plugged in ex. USB mouse, 3.5mm audio jack
|Check the power adapter||Verify that the power adapter works. Test with a different power adapter if one is available. If a different adapter works, contact Intel Customer Support.|
|Check memory modules||
|Check the drive||
|Check for thermal issues||Check if the Intel® NUC shows signs of overheating.|
|Check the Network Boot setting in BIOS||
If Network Boot is enabled in BIOS, random restarts or blue screen errors can occur.
|Update BIOS, drivers, and firmware||Download and install all the latest BIOS, drivers, and firmware.|
|BIOS recovery||Try a BIOS Recovery.|
|For issues during gameplay||If playing games, check for a corrupted configuration file for the game.|
