Remote Direct Memory Access, or RDMA, allows a computer to access another computer's memory without interacting with either computer's operating system data buffers. Therefore, networking speed and throughput are increased.

iWARP is a protocol for implementing RDMA across Internet Protocol (IP) networks.

RoCEv2 is a protocol for implemtenting RDMA in an Ethernet network.

The Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) section of the Adapter User Guide for Intel® Ethernet Adapters has the latest installation and configuration guidance for Linux*, Windows*, and FreeBSD*.
