Why does my IP core fail to automatically upgrade?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

    Critical Issue

    Description Because of a problem in the Quartus® II software v14.0A10, the following IP cores fail to upgrade during automatic upgrade, even though the GUI states that automatic upgrade is supported for the cores:
    • Partial reconfiguration (fails to migrate)
    • Arria® 10 Transceiver Native PHY (v13.1A10 fails to migrate)
    • Arria 10 FPLL (v13.1A10 fails to migrate)
    Resolution

    To work around this problem, remove the IP core from you design and reinstantiate a new instance of the IP core v14.0A10.

    This problem is not scheduled to be fixed.
