When powering up the Stratix® 10 device, once the configuration process starts where the nCONFIG goes high, if there is an interruption before the CONF_DONE goes high, the configuration process will fail due to the firmware is unable to handle the interruption. As long there is an interruption between the nCONFIG high to CONF_DONE high period, the configuration process will fail.
An interruption is classified as one of the following:
a. pulsing the nCONFIG
b. initiating JTAG configuration
c. bitstream corruption
You may encounter this issue using Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 17.1 (including Update 1 and Update 2). This issue impacts all Stratix® 10 configuration schemes.
When the configuration failure occurs, you need to power cycle the Stratix® 10 device for subsequent configuration.
This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0.
