2.5.7. Special Pins Requirement

Pin Requirements
RZQ
  • There are two RZQ pins per I/O bank.
  • The RZQ pins are dual-purpose pins, and can be used as GPIO if you do not use OCT calibration.
  • To use the RZQ pins for OCT calibration, connect a precision resistor with a ±1% tolerance to the pins.
VREF
  • A VREF voltage is required for all voltage referenced I/O standards.
  • The F-Series and I-Series GPIO banks support internal and external VREF.
  • The external VREF pin is a dedicated pin that you cannot use as a GPIO pin.
  • If you do not use the VREF pin, you must tie the pin to ground.
  • I/O lanes in a bank must share the same VREF type (internal or external VREF). If you use external VREF, the I/O lanes in the bank must share the same VREF voltage.
